Set and Apep

Set, who murdered his brother Osiris, also saves the Sungod Re from the chaos serpent Apep. This unusual event occurs in the seventh hour of Re's trip through the underworld, or Duat. If Set does not succeed in defeating Apep, the entire cosmos--even the gods themselves--will be dissolved back into primordial chaos.
