To be fair, it's not easy being Amaru. Radiant Garden is not his home-world - the customs are different, the people are distant at best and hostile at worst, and he's stuck doing things he's never done before, or ever even considered doing. The housewife life really doesn't agree with him.
Nonetheless.

That sweet flowergirl Aerith next door has really been a life-saver. One of the few locals not to shun the outcast pair she's become the closest thing to a friend he's probably ever had. Neither arrogant Lord Amaru nor equally arrogant Marluxia was really the type to make friends, but as things look now, he's very grateful for all the help and support she's given them.
Nonetheless.

Nonetheless, what happened between them was really a horribly stupid mistake. Both of them being rather lonely as the 'men' of the households were busy with the restoration, spending quite a bit of time together, rather intrigued by the other's odd outlook on life... And it's so easy for a little mistake to happen, it was neither planned nor intentional, it just ended up that way, and really, it never happened and besides it will never happen again. Ever.
At least not until next week.
Damn it, this was the last time. Really. We can stop this any time at all. Never again. Ever. Never.
Or maybe just once.

And then Even found out.

The rest is such a mess or horrid angst I won't even poke at it with a long stick, but in short there was a horridly painful break-up, and by the time Amaru came crawling back to beg for forgiveness he was an utterly broken creature, so sorry, really, so very sorry.
And Even is still too hurt to really dare trust him close again.

Lots of pain and lots of angst all around.
