I read the fantasy novel East of Midnight by Tanith Lee a while back. While the read itself was nice enough, the more I think back on the complex story, the more I like it. I may have to read it again.
Anyway, this is Zaister, one of the main characters. A spoiled and conceited but angsty princeling, who is to be sacrificed for the good of the people, though he really doesn't feel much like it. I searched the net for images of this nice character, but couldn't find any. Dismayed by the lack thereof, I set out to correct the problem.
Stunning O_O
Have you ever looked at the works of "Susan Seldon Boulet"?
Your glowing colors and flowing lines remind me of the same style she uses *^_^* <3
I hadn't heart of that artist before, but I looked up her art, and it really is very beautiful. I'm flattered to have my works compared to it; thank you.
I read East of Midnight not to while back, and I was delighted to find that her book there shows some themes followed in the Claidi Journals... a wonderful job showing Zaister! Way better than the ridiculous cover of my paperback (it's so outdated and old...)
Wow, the style you drew this in is amazing. It gives the impression of being on old parchment, but becoming more focused in the center of the drawing. The metal ornamentation actually looks metallic.
That's one of Tanith Lee's books that I *haven't* yet read...I should look into finding a copy.
Tanith Lee's books vary in quality, but I enjoy them overall. I recommend Biting the Sun (one of the few still in print) or the Flat Earth series (Death's Master, etc.), which has a lovely mythological feel to it.

It was a good book. I've only read a few of her books, but I really liked the concept of this particular story.
