John Smith was a professional hitman rather looking forward to retirement, and is quite peeved the zombie apocalypse got in the way. He's very vain, very gay and a very, very good sniper, in that general order.
Jessica Thomas was always easily bored and frustrated with life back when the world hadn't ended. Granted, the post-apocalypse may not be a dream come true, but at least you can kick undead butt and make shameless moves on distinguished retired hitmen to feel better about things.
Emilio Moretti had always expected to follow in his father's footsteps with the Family Business, but perhaps not starting by avenging his murder in the middle of a raging zombie apocalypse. And the undead subsequently eating his remaining mafia frankly did nothing to improve matters.
Thrown together by fate, these three intrepid heroes now find themselves reluctant defenders of the sad vestiges of mankind.

I had to come back and comment on this pic again to tell you I saw a dude who looks JUST like John in the supermarket today. 
He even had the long coat and stuff. The guy I saw wasn't quite as gray as John is, but that was really the only difference. I almost lol'd, but I didn't want to be the weird person in the grocery line loling at random distinguished-looking older guys.
